CRYING EYES explores a girl who is having difficulty letting her guard down. The song gives her permission to let it all go, to cry and to stop trying so hard to keep all of her emotions in. Contrary to what many people think, vulnerability can make you more attractive. The first step to healing can be as simple as acknowledging the hurt. Finally, there is a gracious moment where the boy admits it is time for him to show support and comfort her rather than allowing her to maintain a brave face.
