Cutting Corners explores the concept that sometimes the journey is just as important as the destination. It can relate to relationships, careers, studies, sport, family or any other chapters in life. Much as people would love it to be otherwise, there are rarely any short cuts in our lives. The outcome is far more fulfilling when an individual has had to push through every step and overcome challenges. Good things that come easily are never as sweet as the ones you have to fight for.
Hey, it's Angus
Angus is a 15 year old international award-winning singer songwriter, musician, DJ and producer who lives in Adelaide, South Australia.
Focussed on positive lyrics, infectious melody and fresh production, Angus is blending his musical origins into accessible and unpretentious music which he connects with, and relates to his audience.
His journey started when he learned classical guitar at six and then piano at 8. After exploring opera, musical theatre and jazz and then inspired by the late and great Avicii, he is now releasing original songs in the EDM Pop genre.
His debut single "Future Me”, written at 12, won national and international awards and was followed by "Fit In" which came 7th in the Australian Song Writing Awards and led to the SA Young Composer of the Year (Pop) award in 2018. "Fit In" gives people the permission and encouragement to stand up against negative peer pressure.
His third single "Small Stuff" also placed in national and international competitions and just missed the top ten for Australia’s entry to the 2019 Eurovision, with a video clip shown on the live SBS telecasts.
Late in 2018 he was lucky enough to record his fourth song "Be You" with multi Aria award winning producer - Peter Holz (Vance Joy, Gang of Youths, Samantha Jade and Peking Duk) in Sydney. This song which celebrates authenticity also won awards in the Pop/EDM genre. In 2019 he co-produced a further 5 songs with Peter which will be available everywhere in the coming months.
